- Funeral services for Rev. Alvin R. Lade, 75, Dillsboro, will be at 10 a.m., (DST, fast time) Wednesday, July 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Dillsboro, with burial in Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, at Ulrich-Filter Funeral Home, Dillsboro.
Rev. Lade died Saturday, July 11, at his home after a long illness. He retired as pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in 1977.
He is survived by his wife, Florence, five sons, Larry L., St. Joseph, Mo., Rev. Charles W. Lade, Wenatchee, Wash., Marcus E., Cincinnati, David L. and Jonathon L., Dillsboro; four daughters, Monica M. Parker, St. Joseph, Mo., Ella L. Colwell, Wenathee, Wash., Kathy K. Cutter, Dillsboro, and Joy C. Richards, Indianapolis; a brother Walter Lade and half-brother, Ernest Lade, both of Kearney, neb.; a sister, Elsie Reese and half-sister, Emma Hanna, both of Kearney, Neb., 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
