- ONEIDA Mrs. Nancy Ruth Mather, at the age of 69, of 315 Lenox Ave., Oneida, passed away on Tuesday evening, April 27, 2010 at her home following a short illness.
She was born on October 3, 1940 in Oneida, a daughter of the late Max and Bertha Dunham Leyman. She married David W. Mather in Clockville Methodist Church on June 14, 1959. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Nancy enjoyed watching videos, reading, bike riding, playing bingo and going to the casino. She had a good social life. Above all, she enjoyed being with her family and had a lot of fond memories.
Surviving beside her husband David, are two sons, David (Barbara) Mather Jr. and Joe (Tiffany) Mather both of Canastota; two daughters, Brenda (Brian) Ouellette of Oneida and Christy (Jeffrey) Drummond of Canastota; two sisters, Olive Wittman of Liverpool and Gloria Smith of Hubbardsville; one brother, Wayne (Agnes) Leyman of Oriskany Falls, and three grandsons, Andrew, Aaron and Brendan.
She was predeceased by one sister, June Lister in 2009 and one son, Allen Mather in 2005.
