(1819-1852) was born in Marlboro, VT, and moved with his parents to Niagara County, NY as a child. As many people did during the 19th century, Sidney went west as a young man, settling in Lenawee Co., Michigan. Sadly, Sidney died while still very young, leaving a widow and young children. Following are some documents, pictures, and letters that survived his family.

Sidney W. Mather, son of Sidney and Lucretia, was born after his father died. He married Minerva Pallister and had three children: Emery, who died young, Chester, and Mary, who married Neil DeVinney.
